About Us

Your hosts are John and Sharon Jarrott, (don't let the name put you off) Sharon and John are retirees.   John is a farmer and was born and raised in the King Valley. We raise sheep, cattle and have a 20 acre non producing vineyard and 345 hectare farm.  Sharon has always thought the farm lended itself to tourisim and thought people would enjoy the peace and serenity of the location and the fantastic views and wanted to build something where the best views are, a friend who had been to Mongolia suggested a yurt, Sharon researched yurts and fell in love with the idea of having a yurt on the property.

What activities are there?

There are fantastic walks both along the scenic mountain ridge where you can see into both the Myrrhee and King Valleys or you can explore the natural bushland which adjoins the property.  You can observe whatever farming activities are happening when you visit.  You can explore the regions many wineries and restaurants.  A visit to Paradise Falls is a must and Harry Power's lookout, although we feel the views from the yurt are equally as good.  There are brochures in the yurt promoting other activities i.e. cycling, white water rafting, horse riding and snow and water skiing.  In winter the snow is visible on the alps from the yurt.
